Is it my router or ISP that is causing my internet to slow down?
Q. Our broadband has been very slow the last few days. I did a speed check today and the download speed was around 100kbps and the upload speed around 50kbps. A few weeks ago we had the same and i updated the firmware on the router (linksys WAG200G) and it worked like a charm. However now the internet is slow again and there are no later firmeware versions i can install. Is there a rule of thumb in finding out whether the problem is with my router or ISP.
And ive run virus checks etc on my computer and it didnt make a difference. It is also slow on the other laptop in the house (both connect wirelessly to the same modem-router).

A. First thing is viruses or browser temp files that have spam. You can also check disk space on your computer, maybe you are running low which causes the swap file to grind a bit more. Also try shutting everything off then starting it all up from the cable modem in towards your computer. Or get yourself a Linksys Wireless-N USB Network Adapter WUSB300N - network adapter for better performing connection, and if you get the N-router you are all set. A. What you've discribed sounds like a Beta version that Linksys has yet to released. That being true and depending on where you found it. I personally would not trust it, obviously Linksys doesn't yet.
Good Luck

My internet sucks --?
Q. I just tested it on speedtest.net and my results is:
Download: 301 kb/s
Upload: 91 kb/s
Server: Doha
ISP: Qatar Telecom
Ping: 100ms
Distance: 50 ml
My router:
Wireless-G ADSL Home Gateway
Model: WAG200G
(See below)

I'm on wireless, but close to my router. The router's firmware is upgraded to it's latest.
Oh and I heard that some people get around 12,000 kb/s speed! O_O
Help please? x__x

A. the solution to this slowness is reasonably clear
connect your computer to the router with an ethernet cable
change your ISP.
