netgear answers:

You should only have to run router set up from one computer. There is no reason to set it up on two computers. There are a couple of possible causes that could cause you to be unable to have internet access. The firewall on your computer (Norton, McAffee, ZoneAlarm, etc.) could be blocking you from having internet connectivity. If you used dial up on the computer before, your computer may be set up to connect using dial up. You also may need to refresh your IP address.

Try these steps and if they dont work post an update with your operating system and what happened when you ran these steps.

1. Hit the Windows button and R button at the same time on your keyboard.

2. A "Run" box should come up with a prompt for you to write something. Type "cmd" then enter.

3. A command prompt that looks like DOS will come up. Type "ping www.yahoo.com" and see what comes back. If the request times out or you get no response continue to the next step.

4. Type "ipconfig /renew" and it will refresh your IP address.

5. Retry step 3. If you are now getting a response back then attempt to go to the internet.

Steven asks…

Router login screen does not display?

So i got internet today and after they installed the modem i plugged my router in and i went to 192.168.1.1 to login. When i do so it does not display anything, it just displays a normal screen when the internet is not working. I lost the installation CD so that is why i need to login, so i can install the router. I had the router previously working about 3 months ago and now when i try it, nothing. Before it was on my desktop now its on a laptop though. I have a netgear Wpn824v2

Here is the support page. You do not need the cd.

You probably have pppoe. You need to enter the username and password into the router. Read the router instructions.

Richard asks…

How do I turn on UPnP on my netgear router?

I do not know how to access the router or know the login information. I have two routers I can use and i do not care which as long as it works. I have this model http://kb.netgear.com/app/products/model/a_id/2529 and this model http://kb.netgear.com/app/products/model/a_id/2583. Please help.

netgear answers:

Type 192.168.1.1 into your URL bar. It should ask you for a password and username. Unless you changed it default password and user are normally either

User: admin
Pass: admin

OR

user:admin
pass: *blank*

Once you have accessed the router just browse through the settings until you find UPnP

  2. Hello Webmaster, I noticed that http://netgearsupport.info/netgear-support-netgear-router-login-not-working/ is ranking pretty low on Google and has a low Google PageRank. Now the Google PageRank is how Google is able to see how relevant your webpage is compared to all the other webpages online, if you cannot rank high at the top of Google, then you will NOT get the traffic you need. Now usually trying to get to the top of Google costs hundreds if not thousands of dollars and very highly optimized targeted marketing campaigns that takes a team of experts months to achieve. However, we can show you how to get to the top of Google with no out of pocket expenses (free traffic), no stupid ninja tricks, no silly mind control techniques, and this will be all white hat with no blackhat software or tactics that could possibly land you on bad terms with Google and put you in the dreaded "Google Sandbox". We'll show you how to easily capture all the targeted traffic you need, for free, multiple ways to land fast (not months) first-page rankings in Google and other major search engines (Bing, Yahoo, Ask, etc), even show you strategies on how to earn daily commissions just try Ranking Top of Google, please check out our 5 minute video.
