How to set up a bridge router?

Q. Hi
I have a linksys e2000 my signal strength is not that good in the living room which is down stairs and the router is upstairs.i would like to know how to set up a bride router with a sitecom wl342 or gigaset 504agu that will act as a bridge. I have visited dd-wrt but theres nothing for the gigaset and the sitecom has no availabl firmware pls help!

A. Without the right firmware, you cannot do it. If those routers have internal menus for client bridging , try those. If they have none, and there is no DD-WRT, only option left is some other third party firmware like Tomato or OpenWRT
Otherwise, no way you can do it...

When i forward port 80 my router crashes and i have to restart it with factory defaults?
Q. I'm trying to do it to forward my xbox 360 because it crashes my internet

A. It could be a router problem. Port 80, 88, 53 and 3074 is recommend to be open for xbox live connection. Try upgrading your router firmware or just replace the router and see if that works. If cost is a problem, try borrow your friend one and try it. I just replace mine too because it keep crashing on me. I got the Cisco Linksys E2000 which works great and have QoS which allow you to reserve bandwidth for your xbox console.

PS: Trying other ports won't solve your problem. All router should be able to forward any ports# you wanted.

Wireless Routers: Reviews
Updated January 2011

Reviews say the Apple AirPort Extreme is the best wireless router you can buy, especially if you have an all-Mac or mixed Mac/PC network. Experts say it offers great range and is simple for novices to set up and use, and

Like the Apple AirPort Extreme (*Est. $170), the Netgear WNDR3700 wireless router is compatible with both Windows and Mac -- but PC-centric reviewers are more enthusiastic about the Netgear

Speedy, simple to set up and less expensive than most wireless routers, the Linksys E2000 impresses experts. It beats the top-rated Netgear WNDR3700 (*Est. $165) in one speed test, and two sources say it's the fastest

If you have old equipment on your network that isn't compatible with Wireless-N -- and you don't want to upgrade it -- experts say you might be better off sticking with a Wireless-G router for now. The inexpensive Linksys WRT54GL is based on the older 802.11g (Wireless-G) wireless networking standard, so it's not quite as fast as 802.11n (Wireless-N) routers. But reviews say the Linksys WRT54GL wireless router is reliable, easy to set up and secure. Unlike the other Best Reviewed routers, it has 10/100 Ethernet ports instead of high-speed GbE. Linksys says this wireless router is compatible only with Windows 2000, XP and Vista, but thanks to its open-source, Linux-based software, developers have created their own firmware that lets the Linksys WRT54GL router do all kinds of things it was never designed to do such as controlling bandwidth usage and signal power.

What's wrong with my wireless router?
Q. We have a Linksys E2000 Wireless N Router and it's brand new! It keeps dropping connection every half an hour or so. I mean I am on the internet right now obviously so it's working now at 54mbps with excellent connection, but every 20 mins or so I lose not only the internet but also the Linksys it's self. We have 5 computers here at work using it. soo... I don't know.

A. If its brand new then download firmware update from linksys website and put in your model number. There will be instructions in how and where to apply it once its downloaded. If that doesnt help then call your ip (internet provider)
