How can I get my Linksys wired router to become Nat Type 2?

Q. Linksys befsr41 version 4.3
I have already did dmz, port forwarding, and when I tryed a static ip(which I need help doing) I couldn't even get online.

A. If your ISP dynamically assigns your IP, you can't use static addressing.

How can i port forward my wii?
Q. i have a wrt54g2 router and i think i need to port forward my wii because every time i play mw reflex i get an error, unable to connect to host. I know the password for the linksys page but i dont know how exactly to portforward.

A. Port forwarding might help as it maximises your connection. To port forward with the Wii, you need to set up a static IP address for it.

First, configure your router:

Log in to your router.
Click on Applications and Gaming.

On the Port Range Forward/Port Range page:

In the Application box, type "Wii".
In the Start box, type "1".
In the End box, type "65535".
In the Protocol box, select "Both".
In the IP Address box, type the number that you want your Wii's static IP address to be.
Tick the Enable box.
Click on Save Settings at the bottom of the screen.

Now your router is set up for port forwarding, you can configure a static IP for your Wii:

Click on Wii Options (bottom left on main Wii menu).
Click on Wii Settings.
Wii System Settings 1: Click right arrow.
Wii System Settings 2: Click on Internet.
Internet: Click on Connection Settings.
Connection Settings: Click on a connection (1, 2, or 3).
Connection (1, 2, or 3): Click on Wireless.
Connection (1, 2, or 3): Click on Manual Setup.
Connection (1, 2, or 3): Enter SSID (you'll find this on the back/bottom of your router).
Connection (1, 2, or 3): Select type of security (WEP, WPA etc; you'll find the key on the back/bottom of your router).
Connection (1, 2, or 3): Auto obtain IP and/or DNS? Select No.
Connection (1, 2, or 3): Advanced Settings: Enter the IP address that you inputted into your router, the subnet mask, default gateway and DNS details (to find these details, on your computer, click Start, then Run. Type "cmd" and click Ok. In the command prompt window, type "ipconfig/all". This will display the required details).
Connection (1, 2, or 3): MTU Value: type "1500".
Connection (1, 2, or 3): Save settings.

And that should be it - your Wii's Internet connection should now run smoothly. If that didn't work, then sorry I have no other suggestions without seeing your setup.

Will port forwarding make it impossible for others to connect?
Q. My neighbor is using the same dsl connection that I am, and I'm experiencing low download speeds on utorrent. If I use port forwarding will he still be able to connect? We're using a linksys wrt54gs router. Utorrent says a firewall/router is limiting my connection. I've already made sure utorrent is an exception for my xp firewall.

A. Port forwarding simply means all *incoming* requests for an application (in this case bittorrent) will be forwarded to your computer instead of reaching a dead end at the linksys router. This won't have any effect on your neighbor at all.

How do I change my NAT to Open on a PS3?
Q. I have a WRT54G2 linksys router.
Also I have already tried port forwarding and all that and nothing.

10 points to best answer :).

A. Port Forward or DMZ

I recommend Port Forwarding and for your Primary and Secondary DNS I would use OpenDNS. That significantly boosted my online performance.
