Q. Okay so I got everything hooked up correctly ( I double checked) I even rebooted both the wireless router and the comcast broadband modem but the internet and Wi-Fi won't work. How can I get the internet and Wi-Fi to work?
A. The basic idea is that your modem is not assigning the correct information to your wireless router or your wireless router is not getting the correct info from the modem.
Make sure your router is grabbing the ip address the subnetmask and the default gateway from the modem itself. You need to get into the routers config page to access the browser-based utility, launch the web browser on your computer, and enter the Routers default Internet Protocol (IP) address, 192.168.1.1 Then press Enter. A login screen will appear. (Non-Windows 7 users will see a similar screen.) Leave the User name field blank. Then enter the password you set up during the setup software. (If you did not run the setup software, then use the default password, admin. Your routers manual is located here http://www.winotek.com/multimedia/items/E1000_V10_UG_USA_NC-WEB,0.PDF (you need adobe pdf reader to view it. which can be downloaded here http://get.adobe.com/reader/.) Make sure to uncheck the Free McAfee® Security Scan Plus (optional) (0.98 MB) software.
If you can press Edit on your question here and then press Add details and write in the MODEL NUMBER of your comcast broadband modem. It should be written somewhere on your modem either on a sticker on the back or on the modem itself, you need this number to determine how to get into the modems network settings page to check the network address settings. If you need further help please feel free to click my name and then click email, and send me a message.

Can I prioritize my cisco e1000 with my xbox?
Q. I hve a linksys cisco e1000, does it have that qos thing thats needed to prioritize my xbox over other computers on the network?
A. Yes you can. In fact, the E1000 has some of the best QoS features and functionality out there.
You'll need to go into Advanced Settings and then Applications & Gaming. You may want to read up on the features in the instruction manual which can be found here (start on page 29):

How do I get the WEP for my Cisco Linksys E1000 Router?
Q. I am trying to hook it up to my DS for Animal Crossing WIld World... but I don't know where to find it. I am either told to use Cisco Connect, but I don't have the software for it, or Some type of HTTP that is all numbers that never loads for me. I was not the one who set up our wireless. The one who did moved out. So please any advice would be helpful at this time.
A. They put reset buttons on routers for a reason. If you can't find a way into it, press and hold the reset button. You do have a manual for the router, don't you, or are you trying to make it work by "asking someone on the internet"?
In a PC compatible machine, press the windows symbol and R at the same time. When the box opens, type RUN and click on OK. That opens up a DOS box so you can type the command
ipconfig It will tell you what the IP address and GATEWAY is. Use those numbers to get to your router. Typically it's 192.168.1.1 or 0.1 and you type those into your browser. Just the numbers, the browser will insert the http://
That's only part of it, which is why you need a manual. The Username and Password (admin and password by default) may be changed or different by default. If they have changed, you will need to either find them, or reset the box. Then, you have to use the WIRELESS tab and display or change the settings for the DS.
Better to find the original person who set it up, or find a friend who knows how to do it.
