Netgear Faq: Netgear Router Wndr3700 Problems

Joseph asks…

connectivity problems. please assist.?

using = IE
OS= Win 7
i have a = NETGEAR WNDR3700 wireless router
problem = whenever me or anyone else in the house connect to the internet, everyone gets booted off the internet for about 3 minutes. i will be on the internet, someone else will turn on there computer, and i lose connection. however, if i am playing world of warcraft, i WILL NOT get dissconnected from the game. it seems to only work on browsers. and i have tried using firefox, and chrome.
what i have tried so far = resetting router, bypassing router (using just the modem : works fine), turning everything off and dissconnecting and reconnecting everything.

if there is any questions, or detaled u need to assist me, please feel free to send me an email = dury.jeff@yahoo.com

netgear answers:

I believe its a dns error, otherwise dhcp.
Solve your dns by flushing dns cache,
Start > Run > cmd > ipconfig /flushdns
if problem still persist, try accessing the router address and observe the settings.

need a detailed answer on how to do this
the ps2 is not wireless so if i limited the wifi it wouldnteffect meh

netgear answers:

I dont think you can actually limit her bandwidth use, the proper way to do this, is to INCREASE your bandwidth, so there is enough to go around. With everything you are running, you should have at least 10 mb internet service, maybe even more. That way, her gossiping online all day will not slow you down.

James asks…

Why cant people connect to my Port-forwarded bukkit server?

I was wondering why people cant connect to my bukkit server! I have port-forwarded it, and tried almost every technique to getting it right, I follow the steps, and I feel that it works for everyone else but me! Here's what I did:
-Port forwarded, 25565 as start and end points, set as TPC/UDP, put my IPV4 address in, and named it
-Set up the server, not entering the server ip into the server notepad because it was port forwarded
-I turned on the server, I was able to get in by typing in "localhost"
-Gave my friends the outside ip from ipchicken.com, they couldn't connect no matter what I did.

As you can see, I have tried every step, and if I forgot to list it, I'm sure that I still did it. I have tried every program there is to port forward, and don't want to use hamachi. I also always have to change the port because it tells me another person on my router is using the same port when I have never set up a working port though. I normally have to change it, to something like 1572, making the ip my friends type in something like 12.23.34.567:1572. I really would like some help and explanation that can explain this ASAP. By the way, My router is a Netgear WNDR3700. Thanks so much for reading and leave a comment with an explained answer, please! If you had the same problem, I would like to know I'm not the only one, so leave a comment! Thanks!
I also dont know how to open it in the firewall. Can someone help me?

netgear answers:

Your firewall may be blocking the connection, since that's what a firewall does. Windows has a firewall that's turned on by default. Either open the port in the firewall, or disable the firewall completely.
