AOL wireless broadband on a Netgear DG834Gv3 modem - help?

I have installed all AOL software and set up the wireless network using the Netgear dongle. My PC is connected wirelessly to the modem, but will only connect to the internet when the Ethernet cable is plugged in (ie I cant connect to the internet via the modem wirelessly).

AOL also wont find the internet connection when I 'search for high speed connections' unless the cable is plugged in. Anybody know how I can connect to the net wirelessly?

I had this problem with AOL 2 days ago and as we speak they still can't resolve it!

They told me first, it was the modem,
then, the aol software was corrupted, then, now get this....
My computer was too clever and was blocking the aol software!!

I have now cancelled my contract with aol and am searching for a new provider.

Weak signal from Netgear DG834GV3 Router?

Our Netgear DG834G V3 router signal stength is weak.
The router was working fine yesterday evening and since this morning the signal strength from all areas of the house have been low.

I've tried changing channels and the signal remains weak.
No settings have been changed.

Hope someone can advise.
The router has been unplugged, reset. Signal is still low.
Tried to update with latest firmware from the netgear site but it crashes and fails to upgrade.

I am assuming router & all PC's are in the same locations now as last night.

I keep getting disconnected from XBOX LIVE - when playing particular game, like call of duty 3.

Is there anything I do to prevent this from happing, someone said "open some port's" which port's do I open?

i have onetel internet but modem router isnt vista compatible so i have renewed it with netgear dg834gv3?

the router is an aol freebie from a mate brand new do i need to reset it before i use it on onetel and i have no set up disc as he had only disc for aol

No router needs to be compatible with anything. Routers are standalone and need no software set up on the machine. Do NOT use the disk to set up a router, this often fails. Use the web interface, as in the manual. If you want to use the 834, you will need to totally re-configure it to match your connection.
