Joseph asks…
what modem must i buy in order for it to connect to Netgear N600 Wireless Dual Band Gigabit Router?
the router im planning to buy is a Netgear N600 Wireless Dual Band Gigabit Router WNDR3700, but which modem must i buy in order for them to work? i just need any, preferrably cheap, modem that will connect. an assistant told me that i need a gigabit modem which i dont understand. please give me specific products that will connect to the Netgear N600 Wireless Dual Band Gigabit Router WNDR3700. thank you.
netgear answers:
Any modem will work. Also check on the box to make sure it's not a modem/router combo. That would eliminate the need of having to buy a modem. Any modem will work fine. If it's a 10 100base-t network interface you'll be in the clear. If you truly want your "gigabit" speeds you could find one that's 100/1000 base-t but that's nothing you'd have at your home. No one even has 100 Mbps at home. 10 Mbps is like...good.
Hope this helps!!

Which is an better wireless N router? D-Link or Netgear?
D-Link DIR-655 Extreme N Gigabit Wireless Router
Netgear N600 Wireless Dual Band Gigabit Router WNDR3700
Which one is better and easier to set up on both Mac/PC, and which is easier to set up internet security also.
netgear answers:
The both are great units. The one difference is that the Netgear is dual band, meaning that it can connect with G and N devices at the same time.
A device that is NOT dual band will be forced to operate only as a G router if any of the devices connected to it is a G device. It will connect to N devices but both will be forced to operated as G.
