Is comcast compatible with my current modem?
So right now I am using a NETGEAR Wireless Dual-Band ADSL2+ Modem Router (model DGND3300v2) on AT&T High Speed Internet. I was wondering if I can still use this modem if I started using Comcast. Or will there be a problem.
netgear answers:
Your Netgear router/modem is compatible with DSL connections only.
ComCast uses cable, so no the modem you have no won't do it.
But don't worry, ComCast will provide you with a cable modem.
Find out what modems are supported here: http://mydeviceinfo.comcast.net/

netgear answers:
What type of "idevices" are you guys dealing with? The router you mention here supports wireless-N. If the router is configured to connect ONLY to wireless-N clients, and your iPod does not support wireless-N (enter your serial number here to find wireless specs of your iPod...http://support.apple.com/specs), you will not be able to connect to this router.
Also, log into the router and see if there are available IP addresses to hand out. If the router has given all its IP addresses out to these other devices, then no one will be able to connect. The other devices do not need to be connected for the IP addresses to be "reserved" by the router. If static IP address assignment is configured on the router, then specific IPs will ONLY be given to devices with certain MAC addresses. Also, check to see if MAC address filtering is enabled on the router. This capability allows only certain MAC addresses (every network device in the world has a unique MAC address) to connect to the router.
FYI, wireless-N not only provides higher speeds, but also better range. However, there will still be signal loss in certain areas, which is inherent to any wireless technology. If you verify that the router is configured to support the wireless technology that your iPod supports, ensure that you have moved around the router's coverage area, and ensure your wireless bars are as strong as possible.

Can I run two routers on the same network ?
Hi, I have two wireless routers and was wondering if I could run both of them on the same network, to extend the reach of the wireless as it is very weak and sometimes none at one end of my house. I have a NetGear DGND3300v2 and a Belkin N1 router. My main router is the NetGear which I have set up and running, which I am now connected to wirelessly, and I have my Belkin which is sitting not doing anything. I have tried to plug it in and run it but all that happens is that the belkin takes the connection from the netgear and then the netgear doesn't transmit, the belkin also creates a different network which I don't want. Any advice would be really helpfull also Im not too good with this kind of stuff so a guide would be nice. Thankyou very much.. ill be happy to answer any questions.
Ok so muski how do i do this ? thankyou
netgear answers:
You can have multiple routers on Your network but your client/pc has only one default gateway.
You can also use infrastructure wifi mode for the routers so the pc selects the best available router.

What does 11N and 11G Channels on a wireless router mean?
I have a NETGEAR DGND3300v2 wireless router. I'm wondering if I can get a basic definition of what these two channels do? I'm asking this because I have an xbox 360 and every time someone calls my home phone I disconnect from XBL. Someone recommended that i try change router channel/frequency so that it doesn't interfere with my cordless home phone. So yeah... Just definition of 11N and 11G channels would be helpful thanks :)
It's a dual band router :) Sorry.
netgear answers:
Both G and N use the same 2.4 GHz frequency range. But some newer N routers are dual band so they also use 5 GHz. If you think the problem is with the 2.4 GHz, get a dual band router and put the XBox on the 5 GHz.
Coincidentally cordless phones use 2.4 GHz so it is conceivable that your phone and router could be on the same channel. You can change one or both fairly easily. Also consider that if you have DSL, make sure every phone that's plugged into a phone jack uses a DSL filter.
