Netgear Faq: Netgear Dgn2000 Problems

Chris asks…

Continued Question To 'Cassini Cowboy' about website & itunes problems.?

Right, what you write was alot and i really do respect you for what you have done, but when i go on the routers webpage, i cant find anything about a firewall, only about an NAT firewall thing,

Router: Netgear Wireless-N ADSL2 + Modem Router DGN2000

It's only me that uses the computer, and i dont think its to do with that because its all devices that connect to this network get the problems i do.

I think the easyest way to solve this would to use Teamviewer, i don't know if you have heard of that but that would be the best thing by far, If you can continue helping me, that would be great; thank you SO much for the help so far, you have been great :D
if you would like to contact me better, E-mail me on: charliecooksey@aol.co.uk
i will continue checking this :)

Michael asks…

How can I share media to my Xbox 360 from My Vista PC?

I am not able to share music, pictures, or video to my xbox 360. I have a Vista PC. My Xbox 360 and My PC are both on the same network. My Vista PC is wireless and my 360 is wired to my Netgear DGN2000 Modem/Router. Both of my devices are connected to the router and internet. I have tried to ping my 360 from my pc and it has not worked. But when I go under the start>network folder, my xbox shows up. I have set up sharing by Windows Media Player and Zune and I have also change my firewall to let the sharing through. Will someone help me fix this problem? I would appreciate it very much. I have also tried Windows Media Center Extender and it too does not work.

Which operating system is on the computer that won't connect?
Some OS's require you to put in the type of "encryption" so that you can enter the correct data to connect. It sounds as if you are set to EAP encryption when you want to be using WPA or WEP .
EAP can use user names and passwords but it requires a "radius" server to work.

Sometimes just deleting the SSID (on the computer that won't connect) and starting over on a connection is the best way to clear errors of this sort.

John asks…

Anyone know how to solve this blue screen problem with my USB wireless adapter please?

I'm using an LM Technologies 54Mbps WiFi USB G Adapter on a PC with Windows Me and a Netgear DGN2000 wireless N router.

When I shut down the computer, the computer goes to a blue screen with the message...

Windows protection error. You need to restart your computer. System halted.

It then doesn't respond and I have to switch the power at the plug off and on to get the computer working again.

Anyone know how to solve this please?

Thanks!
I've installed new drivers, but still have the same problem. I've also used a registry cleaner. Complicated this one. :-)
Thanks for all the answers so far, very helpful and I'm sure I'll solve it.

netgear answers:

Could be a problem with device drivers, hardware or software. This problem can be solved by uninstalling new software, updating device drivers and making minor configuration changes . From http://fixit.in/bluescreenofdeath.html . You can also run a free registry scan using utilities from http://re7.info
