Netgear Faq: Netgear Dg834g Password

John asks…

How do i put a password on my DG834G v3 Netgear router?

I cannot log in? it does not accept the username: admin
password: password

netgear answers:

Open your browser (internet explorer) and on the address bar type 192.168.0.1 (common address used by most routers) In the login page type admin password admin (sometimes password maybe blank). If you can get inside there are options to change password. Good Luck

Richard asks…

I have been given a Netgear router DG834G, but am unable to complete the set-up process.?

Could this be because the router was intended to be set up on a different account or phone line. The username contains the Broadcall phone number that has nothing to do with me. The set-up process runs smoothly until trying to access the Netgear set-up site where we are prompted to enter username and password. We do this and are unable to proceed any further and are rather baffled.

netgear answers:

Hi
You could use it as an access point giving you a wireless network if you would like to try this log on to this web site.

Hope this will help

Ken asks…

I know my routers gateway user name and password but when I enter it it doesn't work What can i do?

I have a NETGEAR DG834G router and its user name and password is admin and password but it doesn't work

netgear answers:

You can reset it to factory settings, just stick an ink pen or paper clip in the little small hole in the back for 30 secods, release it, the router will restart itself, and will restore to factory settings and then you can reset your password.

Daniel asks…

CAN NETGEAR DG834G FIND WIFI NETWORKS?

Hi there, I own a Netgear DG834G router. What I need to know is can I connect to a local FREE WIFI point with it? Meaning that near my home there is a free and legal WIFI network without password needed which I can connect to with my laptop. But I have my router connected to my tower, now can connect to this WIFI service with my tower using the Netgear router? If so please briefly explain how or link to for me. As at the moment I can't and don't know how to look for a WIFI network using this router. Hope you understand that and thanks!! Paul
Please help report Changbob for his spam! Thanks

netgear answers:

Dont think you can do what you want

You are asking how to get your router to connect to a wifi point
YOU connect to a router, a router does not connect to YOU, or anything.

Just get yourself a USB wireless dongle for the tower
