how do you setup a netgear wgr614 v6 router
i have bellsouth fastaccess dsl and i have a westell modem dsl box and i cant get netgear working it always says after doing the restarting network thing that it doesnt have a connection. How do i get this working i really need help im really frustrated and mad right now
netgear answers:
I am not trying to slam netgear but they are a bit of a bugger to configure this way, first you will need to disable the firewall on the router, then disable the DHCP, once this has been done you will need to save the setting, then you will need to plug the modem into port 1of the router,
unplug power to modem, unplug power to router plug in power to router, wait 1 min plug in power to router, make sure that you have internet connection before you try wireless, if this doesn't work you always have the reset button.

Hello how do i setup a netgear wireless router WGR614 v6?
netgear answers:
I believe you can simply put in the CD that came with it and you can configure it that way.
Also, you can type 192.168.0.1 into a browser and type in the user name and password for the router and then edit your settings that way.
The default username is probably something like admin and the password is probably password or something like that.

Netgear Wireless Router WGR614???
I am having problems with Internet Connection if Netgear Wireless Router WGR614 is connected. Setup- Modem to Linksys Router(Wired) to SMC Switch to Netgear Wireless Router( Access Point). From switch to wireless router 1-4 port numbers and NOT connected WAN(Internet) Turn off DHCP to make Wired Router assign DHCP. Even Netgear Router is connected, Internet work with using wireless but after sometime Internet stops working.
Is possible to add Wireless Router to make as Access Point after or before the SMC Switch?
How to test the Wireless Router-to check if it is bad or going bad?
I cant able to access Wireless Router with Default Gateway. Default Gateway sign on to Wired Router.
netgear answers:
You should place the netgear after the router and before the switch. If you want the router to be the dhcp server then you need to disable the one on netgear. To reach the netgear router then you need to use one of the addresses assign to the netgear as your gateway. Usually if you are able to connect into the wireless then it the netgear should be fine, however if you do find that it is goiung bad contact netgear. They work with you as long as you have all your information.
