There could be a number of things wrong including it just being broken. But here are some steps to take to try to resolve. Make sure the computer is plugged directly into a Lan port on the router. Make sure your computer is set to DHCP IP addresses not Static. That shouldn't be a problem unless you have set it to be static at some point. If the router is working, it should give your computer a DHCP assigned IP address. Most routers use either 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1 as their address. You can tell which by looking at the address the router assigned you. Then open up a browser and try to connect to either 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1.
If you haven't done this yet, you should hold down the reset button on the router for about 30 seconds, this will clear all of the settings in the router and set it back to the default, there may be some odd settings causing problems.
Lastly, you can look up the router information on Netgear to see what it says the default IP address and user name and password is, then there is no guessing.

CAN ANYBODY HELP SET UP A WNR2000 NETGEAR ROUTER?

Well frustration usually generates non-working connections! First step, take deep breath.
Second step - was your internet working without the router?
Third Step - is your DSL or CABLE modem also a router? If so you have to disable that prior to installing the Netgear!
Fourth Step - You can indeed get to the "routerlogin" even if the internet isn't working, you are attempting to connect to the ROUTERS web server and you don't have to have internet for that to work!
Read the instructions or follow netgears online guide, really, they do work

If your modem is a NAT modem (like many are) you may have to change your local IP's so that you do not conflict with them.... UNPLUG the modem from the router, if you can then get to the router login and couldn't with the modem connected, you have to "BRIDGE" the modem before the router will work! See you ISP or DSL REPORTS websites for help with that!

I am having Netgear wifi problems...?
I am trying to connect my laptop to the wifi, and everything is lit up, except the yellow wifi button, i'm not sure what is going on, but i replaced my old router because it had the same problems.
I tried setting it up on the Netgear Router Login website, but they changed it and i'm lost, and i also tried setting it up when you 1st look for a wifi spot on my Windows 7 laptop, can someone please help me?
netgear answers:
Have you tried www.routerlogin.net ? I too am having trouble with WIFI, laptop - DS - Wii. I even tried to set 'NO' password, its like Im getting a good signal but the router want receive it. My 'wireless' light stays on and blinks occasionally. If I plug my ethernet cable into the last port (beside the power, not the antenna) it blinks like it should(?) Oddly enough that's where I was running the cable the whole time (w/ 1desk, 1lap, 2games) everything was working till I tried to add a 2nd desk (wireless), but had to hard wire from router. Sorry no help but feel your pain.

Can i see who is accessing my network and what the other computers in my house the website they are on?
please help? i have a netgear router. i can access the router login if neccesary. please help
netgear answers:
You should be able to view who is accessing your network and depending on software/dsl/etc. You can see who is running a wireless in your area that might get on even if they are not. You should not be able to see what websites other users on the network are using unless you install a monitoring/spyware program on each machine.
