Q. Bought a lot of Linksys products. Desktop is accessing internet through a gateway. The Laptop (which is want to go wireless) is also wired and using gateway to access internet. Desktop can stay wired but Laptop was purchased to use wireless. Can I go wireless from Laptop to desktop and so I would be able to access desktops connection to internet lan modem. I tried the Linksys hardware and software but laptop will not work wireless.
A. I wish I knew what type of Laptop you had (make&model)
Besides that, if need (if you don't have one already) A Wireless Notebook card. http://www.amazon.com/Linksys-WPC54G-Wireless-G-Notebook-Adapter/dp/B00007KDVK
If you bought one, You don't need it. There is a possibility that it was installed in your Laptop when you bought it, but I do not know this due to lack of what Laptop you have.
If you did buy one, Insert it into the laptop and install the drivers (through CD or internet)
Once everything is installed, Find your router and connect!
Please email me, Storagefiles@sbcglobal.net, I can help you out more. I just need to know what products you bought. They aren't listed in the question so me (and probably everyone else) are clueless.

How to install Linksys WPC54G Driver...PLEEEZ HEEELP?
Q. How to install Linksys WPC54G Driver...PLEEEZ HEEELP?
This is so frustrating. I just downloaded the driver for the card from the internet, and saved it to a USB drive to put on my laptop. I followed the following instructions...
:- from the control panel , got to "system"
2:- go to the hardware tab and then to device manager
3:- u should be able to see "network/Ethernet controller" if not under "network adapters" look for the wireless card....
4:- right click on either of the above options and select properties.
5:- go to the driver tab and select update/re-install driver
6:- select "install from a specific location"
7:- browse to the folder where u have saved the downloaded driver files...
8:- select the appropriate .inf file and say open..
On Step 7, I tried clicking my location but the "OK" button like, un-highlighted. I tried everything. This is so frustrating.

A. Did you try manually selecting the driver, and not doing the search? its the option marked "Don't search, I will choose the driver to install". That should allow you to find the INF file.
