How do I configure port forwarding when accessing public wireless LAN?

Q. I tried to use some games and programs which require special ports to transfer data. But the connection fails when using access to public wiress LAN such as Linksys routing. How do i configure port forwarding in singapore?

A. In general, you don't. You'd need access to the router configuration to do that, and only the most foolish hotspot operator would let you change the router configuration.

You may be able to tunnel the traffic through a proxy server.

Sony laptop internet problem.?
Q. I am an American working in Singapore as a Linux professional. I am not a Windows professional.

My lady-friend (also an expat) recently moved in with me. She brought her Sony Viao laptop with her to Singapore. It was running really slow (99% CPU usage). iTunes would hang.

I took it to work, and connected it to the 3Com router. I removed the "bloatware", I installed all the Windows 7 updates and then cleaned all the spyware. Now it runs much faster (6-20% CPU usage). iTunes works now.

I can not get the Viao to work with the internet connection in my flat. It will not connect to my Linksys router via Wifi. If I connect the network cable my router keeps resetting.

My Boxee, both my Linux boxes, and my Dell laptop work fine with my router. My wifi works just fine with both of our iphones, and my ipad.

What is the problem?

A.

HELP!
Reason for picking San Francisco as test server: Most web servers are in America, so i want to test the speed to dl/ul with an average server.

A. It seems that your computer is infected with Spyware. Simply scan your system and remove any unwanted programs. Also make sure you are using an Anti Virus, Anti Spyware, Anti Adware and an Anti Adware. Also make sure that you are using an updated firewall program. Windows Firewall is not effective all the time.

VOIP...Pc to homephone/cell phone
Q. Hey guys

I need to know what is the best(cheapest) place to get internet to phone calling???? please help. 10 points to the one that I use

A. The cheapest PC-to-Phone calling is.... free.
However, free usually has strings attached. But the exception is services that offer free just to get you to try their service, usually for limited trial periods.
Other services that offer free are often in Beta development phase and offer free calling as an incentive to acquire a user base. But free doesn't usually last forever.

Examples of free PC-to-Phone sources:

MediaRingTalk -
offers free 10 minute calls to USA, Canada, Australia, China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, UK, Singapore. Call back as many times as you like after each 10 minute cutoff.

EarthCaller -
Completely free calls to anywhere in USA/Canada from your web browser. No catches. It is in beta dev cycle and is free as long as it is in beta dev phase.... enjoy while it lasts.

As far as cheap phone calling, I use CallCentric with their free downloadable softphone. Calls to USA/Canada/UK and many other areas of Europe and Asia are only 1.98 cent/min.
But, I can also use them with my user configurable ATA from Linksys. With the PAP2T-NA or SPA2102 ATA phone adapters, I can make calls without a PC at the same 1.98 cent/min rate.
