Q. So...I have a linksys router and I want to host games in Warcraft III, but it won't let me. I looked around the internet and found that you need to forward your ports to 6112 or something like that. I went to this website http://portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/Linksys/WRT54G/Warcraft_III.htm and it said to put your static ip address into the browser and a log in box will come up. Well, I did what it said and I put the default log in and when I did that, I believe I logged in, but it led me to a blank site. It's supposed to lead me to the linksys firmware site or w/e, but instead it directed me to a blank site and said it was done. So I'm not really sure what to do and I really want to host my own games in Warcraft III so someone help me with my port forwarding linksys problem please?
A. I've had this same problem too, but I got my hosting games to work this way...
Go to Start, and push run.
Type cmd and push okay.
Now, type "ipconfig" (without the quotes)
Look for Default Gateway, and enter the number in any Web Browser (IE, FireFox, Opera)
That should take you to your router settings...
Now look for something like Virtual Servers, or Port Forwarding...
Then enter 6112 in the ports to open for UDP, and input whatever else it tells you to.
If all that doesn't work, try disabling your firewall, and if you can host games after that, go to your firewall and look for an option to open ports, then open port 6112...

How to open linksys firmware update on Imac?
Q. I just went to the linksys webpage and updated the firmware to 1.02.5 but the file never opened and said choose an application to open it. What would I used to open this file on an imac and set it up?
A. Don't open it just click cancel. Then go to 192.168.1.1 or what ever your router's ip is. Then log in, the default password is usually admin for name and a blank password or reverse it blank name and admin for the password. On the most common router, the WRT54G you click on administration on the top and then firmware upgrade. Then click choose file and click on the unopened .bin file. DO NOT uncompressed the .bin file it must be the original compressed .bin file or you could ruin the router!.
My befsr41 router keeps disconnecting can you help?

Sleepy...Connection works when I plug it directly into the modem. Tried to respond to your answer but was disconnected.

A. had the same problem with my linksys wrt54g. I tried everything you listed and finally came to my senses and just called my internet provider. The problem was i had a bad connection through my cable modem and the cable that ran through my house to my box was bad. Try calling your internet provider and have them come by and look at your modem and your connection. It worked for me.
How to set up linksys router for playing xbox online?
Q. I have a linksys wrt54g2 and every 4 or so hours I lose connection to the Internet. Then the Internet doesn't work unless I unplug the router and plug it back in. I have gotten tired of unplugging the router. I have unplugged the router and just left the modem in and it worked fine so it's not the ISP.
A. flash the firmware to the router ... see if that's the problem... or maybe you just have a shoddy router.
