Netgear w111 v3 adapter problems?
I have the w111 v3 adapter that's about 3 years old. I tried to transfer it to a different cpu that was running windows vista.
I downloaded the software, but when I tried to connect to the internet it says I have a "limited connection". When I called Netgear they tried to charge me 40 dollars for tech support to enter the IP address etc? Is there a way for me to do this myself? or is it just better to buy a new adapter?
netgear answers:
Wll ... Probable two reasons .. Either you did not enter the correct security settings ... Reconfirm it.. Secondly the ip address was not retrieved... So assign a new ip address...
How just google it.

Slow WoW Patch Downloads (4.0.1)?
Hi, Im having problems downloading the 4.0.1 patch for world of warcraft, the downloader downloads at about 700kb/s when started from the very start and 300kb/s when resumed but a few seconds after starting it reduces to around 12kb/s I have a Netgear DG834G (v4) router and my computer is connected by an ethernet cable and ive tried turning off firewalls, port forwarding (not sure if the ports were correct), custom router firmware... I don't know what else i can do, normally when I download something from my browser it downloads at 300kb/s at least. Finally, I can't get onto the blizzard support page, it just stays blank-tried on 2 computers and 2 browsers so it could be a problem with blizzard. Please help ive been downloading since 4pm yesterday and its only on 50%... is it the amount of people downloading the same thing? Btw, Im with virgin broadband-8Mbps (4.5mbps on speedtest.net)

It's definitely not the safest suggestion but if you are really desperate you could always plug directly from your PC to your internet connection source instead of going through your router. An obvious suggestion, I know, but just throwing it out there. Also, I was not monitoring the speed of the download but I know that every time I had launched the the WOW launcher over the past week it would state that it was doing background preparation for the new patch. In my case the patch fully completed Monday night. During the final stages it took about 2 or 3 hours and ended being about a 4GB patch. If you have the courage and are a risk taker you can bypass your router. Other than that I would say check with your service provider to see if they are putting a cap on your download speed.

Help I don't know if I can get connected to the internet...?
Ok well I have a dell latitude d600 with windows xp and I had one of those belkin wireless adapters (I have a desktop with a Netgear wireless router plugged in and two other laptops that feed off of this signal, one with vista and the other with xp) plugged into it.. well needless to say it broke after so much wear and tear.... Im trying to see if my laptop has wireless capability. I installed a whole bunch of drivers from http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/driverslist.aspx?c=us&cs=RC1084719&l=en&s=k12&catid=5&hidlang=en&hidos=WW1&impid=-1&os=WW1&osl=EN&servicetag=J51YQ41&SystemID=&TabIndex= and the one about Intel (R) wireless says that the driver is not installed.... I did an ipconfig/all and it says this:
Windows IP Configuration
Host Name.... Personal
Primary Dns Suffix... blank
Node Type... Unknown
IP Routing Enabled... Yes
WINS Proxy Enabled...Yes
Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection 3:
Media State.... Media disconnected
Description... Broadcom 570x Gigabit Integrated Controller #2
Physical Address...00-0F-1F-9E-13-77
Please help quickly I really need the internet to do my hw for college.
when i go to the device manager all i see is the broadcom 570x thing under network adapters
netgear answers:
Dell d600 does come with a wireless adapter.
You can right click on My computer /properties/hardware and then click device manager to see in network adapters weather you have one or not. You may find one with Unknown device as it is unable to fine proper driver. Try to go to its properties by right click on it and in drivers tab, try to roll back driver.
Hope that will work.

Why does AT&T DSL offer internet speed of 6.0MB/s and Netgear have routers for 300MB/S?
I'm pretty confuse and oblivious in anything related to routers/modem/internet speed and i suppose i need to sort things out one at a time. My downloading speed is 1.33 Mb/s and Upload is 0.31 Mb/S. I noticed that AT&T offers speed up to 6.0 Mb/s
http://www.att.com/gen/general?pid=14400
And was looking for a wireless N router to replace my Lynksis wireless B router. Netgears WIRELESS-N 300 ROUTER saids it will support speed up to 300 Mb/S
http://www.netgear.com/Products/RoutersandGateways/WirelessNRoutersandGateways/WNR2000.aspx
What the heck is going on here! Would i be better off just buying a less expensive router that supports speed up to 10 Mb/s? All i want is a much faster connection, but i'm a bit confuse on how to go about it.Thanks
netgear answers:
The 300Mbps figure is for local traffic. For example, if you are transferring data between two computers that you own and are in your own home. Transferring data between you and the Internet is constrained by the speed of your internet connection.
